Last Friday, Phil and I did something we’ve never done before.
We were out celebrating an early Valentine’s at Applebee's when I searched for a walk-in salon nearby. Found one a mile away. Thought… why not?
First time ever getting haircuts side-by-side. 💇♀️💇♂️
It was, without question, the worst haircut of my life. 😆I’ve taken scissors to it multiple times since. There is no fixing it.
And yet…
I’m not upset.
Because it will grow back...And That’s the Point.
And honestly? Probably way too fast.
Why Fast Hair & Nail Growth Isn’t Annoying — It’s a Signal
Hair and nails are among the fastest-growing tissues in your body. When they grow steadily (or even quickly), it’s often a sign that:
Your body has adequate protein
Micronutrients are present
Circulation is good
Your system feels safe enough to prioritize growth
Growth only happens when the body has what it needs.
Your body will not waste resources growing strong hair and nails if it’s in deficiency mode.
The Nutrient Connection
Healthy hair and nail growth depend on:
Protein (structure)
Biotin & B-vitamins (cellular turnover)
Zinc (repair & growth)
Collagen support
Antioxidants (protecting follicles from stress)
When nutrition is consistent and foundational, growth shows up in the “small things” first.
Sometimes it shows up as:
Needing a haircut sooner
Trimming nails weekly instead of monthly
Baby hairs popping up around your temples
Those “annoyances” are actually little victory flags.
My 20+ Year Foundation
For over two decades, I’ve focused on foundational nutrition — not fads, not quick fixes, just consistent support.
I live in Yoncalla, Oregon (maybe the only Yoncalla in the world 😉), and I’ve built my wellness life on one principle:
Give your body what it needs daily. Let it do what it was designed to do. Shaklee VitaLea is the best foundational supplement on the market IMHO

Hair grows. Nails grow. Skin turns over. Energy stabilizes.
And yes… sometimes you survive a bad haircut knowing nature is on your side.
The Bigger Message
Growth is a sign of resilience.
Whether it’s hair…Health…Business…Or life…
If it’s growing, you’re doing something right.
And if you’re curious what foundational nutrition looks like in real life — not hype — just steady, long-term results…
You know where to find me.

For over 20 years we've helped families build simple daily habits that support long-term health and wellness using science-based nutrition.
While we serve customers throughout the USA, Canada, and Australia, we are based in Yoncalla, Oregon and support many Shaklee customers locally throughout Douglas County, including Roseburg, Sutherlin, Drain and Elkton.
